A versatile vocalist, simply born to perform. Listening to his powerful voice will move your emotions. He has captivated the hearts of many and always gets a standing ovation in every performance. He is sought after throughout San Diego and Southern California to work his magic to his audience. Sings and models for Gretchen Productions fashion show. He has performed on FOX 6 In the Morning and KUSI Inside San Diego television show. Opened up for American Idol stunner Katharine McPhee and actor/performer Drake Bell at the Mother Goose Parade’s pre-show. Recently had his very successful first solo concert entitled “This is the Moment” last May 25, 2008.

A Dubliner born and bred, Patrick D'Arcy has learned the art of uilleann piping from many of today's best players and a few of histories greats also. He attended the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin and The Willie Clancy Summer School in County Clare and now passes on what he has learned to up and coming pipers. Patrick tours throughout the U.S. regularly. He has composed music for television, film, computer games, and enjoys being a guest musician on many recordings. Patrick is the creator of the great uilleann piping website UilleannObsession.com and is also a founding member of The Southern California Uilleann Pipers Club - SoCalPipers.com He is adjunct faculty member of The Masters College Music Department.

Helma Christiane Bloomberg has enjoyed a distinguished career of public service and philanthropy for organizations that promote the arts, science, athletics and cultural exchange. Ms. Bloomberg’s numerous pro bono activities seek to galvanize international goodwill and promote cultural awareness. To facilitate international commerce she connects various consulates with local business leaders while at the same time showcasing their culture through the print media. This year, Ms. Bloomberg has been recognized by the Los Angeles Consular Corps for her outstanding devotion and invaluable contributions to the Diplomatic Corps as International Liaison. In 2004, Ms. Bloomberg was honored in the City of Beverly Hills as one of Beverly Hills’ “Most Exciting Women” by the South East Symphony.

As a champion of the arts, Ms. Bloomberg has served on the boards of the Los Angeles Opera Company and the Los Angeles Ballet Company. For the Opera Company she made corporate connections and she is especially proud to have initiated a concert for the City of Beverly Hills through the Opera’s Education Department. Those special opera performances are now in their sixth season. Ms. Bloomberg is recognized as a Founder of the Music Center. Ms. Bloomberg also initiated a dinner at the Japanese Consul General’s residence which established funding for Conductor Kent Nagano’s Manzanar Performance Piece at UCLA. And, at the Beverly Hills Greystone Mansion, she chaired the Hungarian Classica Romano luncheon for Young Artists International.

Ms. Bloomberg has served on the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and was a National Council member. As board member of the William Kapell Piano Foundation she commissioned works by young pianists and provided performance opportunities. Ms. Bloomberg contributed funds and support for the Media Lounge at the Goethe Institute and the Zachary Auditions for young Opera Singers. She is a member of the Wagner Society. On behalf of the Los Angeles Consular Corps and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, she has mobilized fund-raising initiatives and personally supported their events. Ms. Bloomberg treasures the friendship of the members of the Asian Ladies Circle of Los Angeles –and she provided aid to victims afflicted by the great Tsumami of 2004. She served as Director of the Beverly Hills Education Foundation, and is pleased to be the founder of the International Society of Cultural Ambassadors. Among its pursuits, the International Society and its benefactors have supported the education of talented young artists by connecting them with foreign schools with the aid of the Los Angeles Consular Corps.

Mrs. Bloomberg devotes time to cross-cultural dialogue by her work as a freelance writer, guest speaker and as a board member of the German-American Cultural Society. The German American Cultural Society works to normalize German – Jewish relations. On behalf of health and science philanthropies, Ms. Bloomberg is particularly proud to have served as chair of a Cedars Sinai Medical Center’s annual three-day event for diabetes which culminated in a televised “Legends of Tennis” match at the Playboy Mansion. Recently she led the establishment of a dynamic alliance between the City of Hope Hospital and the Los Angeles Consular Corps. Ms. Bloomberg is a sponsor of the Austrian-American Council West and of the Los Angeles-Berlin Sister City organizations. An enthusiastic supporter of athletics, she has twice chaired “Hall of Fame” Gala Events for the United States Tennis Association, Southern California Section, honoring Champions of Tennis. She has also led the effort to raise funds to send an equestrian participant in the sport of Dressage to the United States Olympic Festival in St. Louis.

Mrs. Bloomberg, a native of Berlin, Germany, has resided in the City of Beverly Hills/Los Angeles area for 41 years. As an international hostess, she has frequently and generously opened their homes for “Music Salons” on behalf of various artists and organizations. During her children’s formative years, Mrs. Bloomberg shared her love of horses with her daughters Stephanie and Alanna.

"Bhangra"

Bhangra" is a lively form of folk music and dance that originates from the Punjab region in India. People traditionally performed Bhangra when celebrating the harvest. During Bhangra, people would sing Punjabi Boliyaan (lyrics), at least one person plays the dhol (drum), and dancers would perform. While Bhangra began as a part of the harvest festival celebrations it eventually became a part of such diverse occasions as weddings and New Year celebrations. Moreover, during the last 30 years Bhangra has enjoyed a surge of popularity worldwide both traditional form and fusion form with genres such as hip hop, house and pop. Bhangra is truly becoming more popular worldwide and people of non-Punjabi background are listening to and performing Bhangra. Universities and other organizations are holding annual Bhangra dance competitions in many of the main cities of the United States, Canada, and England. At these competitions, young Punjabi's, people of different South Asian background, and people with no South Asian background compete. It is evident that every year Bhangra becomes more popular and known among many different types of people worldwide.

The performing group Ranun Sa Ranao, which means “Ode to the Lake” aims mainly at popularizing the Maranao culture and is committed to learn, preserve, and promote their rich cultural heritage through presentation of their distinct music, arts and traditions.

Edith Ombra, the mother figure of the group said, “the young performers’ freshness, enthusiasm and vibrancy on the stage promise no less than great entertainment and fun. Their well-chosen repertoire conveys the richness and uniqueness of their culture that is to this day in existence in Lanao provinces.”

“Further, their colorful costumes and graceful movements amazingly ensure a delightful and fascinating experience to the audience to relive after,” Ombra said.

Performing on stage are youthful and vibrant dancers composing mostly of royal-blooded Maranaos whose group called “Ranun Sa Ranao” along with Teatro KANDUSAY, an all Filipino cultural ensemble now based in Los Angeles. ( from Julius Valmores of Taliba)
